Defamation framing
Each entry on this register is a fair and accurate report of a regulatory notice served by the Health and Safety Executive. Such reports attract the protection of qualified privilege under Schedule 1 of the Defamation Act 1996 in respect of contemporaneous or substantially contemporaneous reporting of public registers. Where a person or organisation named on this register submits a right-of-reply, that reply is recorded against the relevant entry and (subject to editorial review) is published alongside it.
Editorial standard
Every entry has a primary source; the source is linked from the entry, archived at retrieval time, and the SHA-256 hash of the archived bytes is stored. The schema distinguishes confirmed material from probable and reported material; certain words (notably “dangerous”, “concealed” and “fraudulent”) are reserved for cases where a court has used them and are not used in any of this register’s own templates or commentary.
Right of reply
Any person or organisation named on this register may submit a right-of-reply for permanent attachment to the relevant entry. Editorial decisions about publication of replies are governed by the project’s editorial governance policy. Replies are never deleted; if an entry is removed for legal reasons it is suppressed (made non-public) but retained internally with the reason for suppression recorded.
